Today we are for the first time meeting in Prague: representatives of MOBA members have an excellent opportunity to exchange stories, ideas and experience plus we are super hyped to visit Sdílené domy’s new housing project.
Solidarity and non-speculative forms of housing are a relatively new and unestablished concept in Central and Eastern European countries. They encounter bureaucratic obstacles, lack of public support or missing sources of financing. This is what our regional network is bringing together, uniting housing projects from Hungary, Slovenia, Serbia, Croatia and the Czech Republic is actively trying to change. What challenges are similar projects have to face, how can they contribute to the debate on the future of housing in our region or how the current rising inflation and energy crisis have affected their implementation. We will discuss this and much more in a panel discussion with the participation of representatives of MOBA groups: Zsuzsi Pósfai from the Hungarian organization ACRED, Ana Džokić from Ko Gradi Grad from Serbia and Tomáš Němeček from Sdílené domy from the Czech Republic. The discussion is co-organized by Deník Alarm and Sdílené domy.
We are also super hyped to visit the an ex-hotel, now a cooperative housing project Prvni vlaštovka. Read more about path that Sdílené domy walked in order to obtain this new housing possibility here.
