We are spreading the coop housing conversation regionally: today we discuss, exchange, compare with our colleagues from CoHab Athens.
PART A
At the participatory workshop together we will develop a scenario of an imaginary housing cooperative in Athens. We will divide into three working groups that will work respectively on the statute, the program of uses and the business plan, adapted on two existing buildings (one that belongs to a public entity and one for sale in the market).
The workshop builds on the methodology, experience and results of similar previous workshops and will support the creation of a collaborative/cooperative housing toolkit that is being prepared by CoHab with the support of the Heinrich Böll Stiftung, Thessaloniki, Greece.
PART B
The afternoon discussion is the closing event of a two-year networking and knowledge exchange program we did with the MOBA network.
MOBA is a network of pioneering housing cooperatives from Central and South- Eastern Europe. Our interest in it is stemming from the common challenges that we face in the Greek context: lack of previous examples of cooperative housing, lack of relevant institutional framework and support, the growing emergency of the housing issue in the last years.
MOBA members include: Zaduga za etično financiranje (Cooperative for Ethical financing), Zagreb // Ko Gradi Grad (Who Builds the City), Belgrade // Rákóczi Kollektíva, Budapest // Sdílené domy (shared houses) Prague // Zadrugator, Ljubljana.
In the discussion the video interviews realised with representatives of the MOBA members will be presented presented and than followed by short online presentations about their projects and a hybrid discussion with the audience.
